If there’s one thing you should know about us, it’s that we’re absolutely obsessed with breathtaking wedding locations. Whether it’s a luxurious beachside venue, a picturesque garden ceremony, or even a desert reception, we’re always up for an adventure! So, imagine how thrilled we were to have the opportunity to capture Julie and John’s The Seabird Resort wedding in Oceanside. From heartwarming moments to hilarious shenanigans, we were there to document every unforgettable moment of this love-filled celebration.

Julie hails from Michigan, John from DC, and they now call sunny LA home. These lovebirds met online in January 2020, and the rest is history. The couple kicked off their wedding festivities with a bang by hosting welcome drinks the night before their special day! What made Julie and John’s wedding truly special was that 180 of their loved ones came together to celebrate their union from all over the country, including LA, Michigan, Virginia, Atlanta, and even New York City!
We began the day photographing the beautiful bride getting ready. Julie’s smile lit up the room, and that smile did not leave her face for a single moment throughout the day. Her bouquet had the most exquisite blend of soft and vibrantly-colored flowers that complemented each other (and her look) so beautifully. And let’s not forget the groom! He looked downright dashing in his blue suit. And just like the bride, even John’s warm smile was the highlight of both his solo portraits and group shots.
The moment Julie and John locked eyes on their wedding day was truly magical. As the bride descended the stairs, John’s face lit up with a big, heartwarming smile that melted our hearts. Capturing these emotional first looks never gets old for us! After the first look, we captured some stunning couples and solo portraits of the bride and groom. Their faces were beaming with excitement, and you could just tell that they couldn’t wait to tie the knot! These photos are a true testament to the joy and happiness that they share.
Julie and John chose to have an outdoor ceremony. And we’re so glad they did that because it was one of the most picturesque outdoor ceremony settings we’ve ever seen! The stunning flower arrangements, the elegant minimalistic decor, the sea in the background, and the towering palm trees surrounding the area created a serene and romantic atmosphere. The real stars of the show, however, were the lovebirds themselves. The couple radiated pure joy and love as they exchanged vows and sealed their union with a kiss.
During their first dance, Julie and John were lost in their own little world, gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes. Later in the evening, we whisked the newlyweds away during dinner for some quick couples portraits. We just walked around the venue, and used every photo op The Seabird Resort had to offer. From the ocean views to the venue itself, the newlyweds happily posed for us against the different backdrops and just soaked in the moment of finally being husband and wife.
Also, not only did they have beautiful first dances with their parents, but when it was time for the dance party, they didn’t disappoint! We could tell they were excited about this part of their day, and wow, did they bring their A-game! John was an absolute dancing king on the dance floor! And let’s not forget about their guests, who were equally impressive. From the youngest to the oldest, everyone was getting down on the dance floor, making it a night filled with laughter, love, and lots of boogying!
