Jessica's Style is Creative, Artistic & Dynamic

Getting to capture the moments of super-in-love couples is why I do what I do. You will have the best time ever with all of your favorite family and friends, and I will help you remember it for the rest of your lives. My style is creative and dynamic: I find the good light, I find the great backdrop, and I’ll give you gentle direction for the most flattering photos. But I’ll also step back and let you totally be yourselves. I’m all about creating a beautiful image, but looking at that beautiful image is really about being back in that moment, and remembering how special it was. I love capturing a good laugh, quiet moments of romance, and the uniqueness of a venue, and the day isn’t finished until I’ve gotten that epic shot (you know, the one you might just blow up real big and hang on your wall forever).

I’ve got a life I adore, two pups who complete me (Meeko and Bear), and a jeep that takes us all on some wild adventures (whether there’s a paved road or not). I'm a big-time traveler, and love going on trips abroad (Tulum, check. Ireland, check. Greece, check!), but coming home to San Diego is the biggest treat of all. I was born and raised here and never ever want to leave—it’s basically paradise, but I’m guessing you know that. We're right on the ocean, the desert’s just outside the city, snowy mountaintops are a short drive away, and I take advantage of everything—hiking, beaching, and exploring unknown places, which can be the most beautiful of all. Kind of like marriage! And I can’t wait to explore your beautiful, unknown adventure with you.

I have been shooting weddings for 2 years! I love love. I just do! And getting to be part of a couple’s most special day is an experience I don’t take for granted. Making sweet moments relivable for decades to come is an honor I relish, whether I’m capturing the emotion of a first look, the collective joy of your closest family, or dance-floor fun between old friends. Creating a relaxed atmosphere is one of my photographer superpowers, so that the day feels fluid and the photos flow, letting everyone focus on just soaking it all up. I’m not one to tell you what to do, but I’ll give you just enough guidance to make the most flattering memories. Combine that with beautiful backdrops and gorgeous lighting (more of my shooting superpowers) and you’ll happily look back at these photos for a lifetime.

Making memories is what brought me to photography in the first place—I was always that friend with the disposable camera growing up, first in San Diego, which I couldn’t wait to get back to, and later in Arkansas. It’s a talent I’ve put into overdrive this year, capturing all the firsts of my 1-year-old daughter Ella. Between toddler playtime and parenting duties, my partner and I still find time for our lifelong love of dance—he’s a choreographer and our own love story began when I took one of his classes! We have a passion for kickboxing too; I help manage the local gym where he’s a trainer, and even Ella likes to beat up on the bags. And—bonus!—all this fitness comes in super handy on your big day, making it easy for me to move gracefully through a crowd, or hold an awkward position to get that extra-magical shot. I can’t wait to capture your memories in the making.

I have been shooting weddings for one year! Witnessing the spark and love between couples is inspiring, it's something that fills my cup to the brim. Everyone is unique, and each couple has something special so my number one priority is you. My style is authentic and timeless, so if you're comfortable and feeling like yourself, the images will speak for themselves. Whether it's the intimacy and tenderness of a first look, or the joy and thrill of coming back down the aisle after saying "I Do." I want you to be yourself, enjoying the wonderful feeling of being surrounded by your closest family and friends who are there to celebrate you. When you look back at your wedding photos, even years later, I want you to feel that moment and remember how incredible that day was.

Telling these kinds of stories is what drew me towards photography. I have always been enamored by beautifully framed and lit moments, a passion that comes from my background in filmmaking. Light that tells a story and compositions that enhance it even further is a huge influence on my style. Living in San Diego there's no shortage of epic views and gorgeous places to explore. My love for this beautiful life grew in part out of my trans Atlantic upbringing. I was raised in London in the UK and I am proud to say that California is my chosen home. When I'm not out and about, you can find me at the pottery wheel making ceramics, or at the gym working out with my boyfriend. Quality time is definitely a love language of mine. An energetic attitude and zest for life keeps my mind and body nimble. This means that even at the end of the night I still have a bright and light energy - something that comes in very handy on wedding days.
