Their multicultural celebration was a beautiful and colorful representation of their Hindu and Jewish backgrounds, and it was such a pleasure to photograph each culture’s cherished wedding traditions. The day began with the vivid hues and sacred rituals of the Hindu wedding, followed by the rich traditions and heartfelt blessings of the Jewish ceremony. As the sun set on this unforgettable day, love and happiness enveloped the newlyweds, their friends, and family, creating a collection of precious moments we were honored to capture.

Zoe and Raj’s love story began on the first day of medical school at UCSD, where they were paired together on a group project. Little did they know that this would set the stage for a love story as epic as their shared passion for Star Wars. To celebrate the completion of their third year of medical school, the couple embarked on an adventure to Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge. But little did Zoe know, Raj had something up his Jedi sleeves. During the lightsaber-building workshop, he surprised her with a proposal that was as epic and unforgettable as the Millennium Falcon’s Kessel Run.

As we started the day photographing Zoe and Raj’s Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa wedding, the couple looked phenomenal in their traditional Indian wedding attire. Zoe was a vision in her gorgeous orange sari, which she paired with exquisite gold jewelry and a gajra (flower garland) that gracefully embellished her hair. Raj, equally dazzling in his elegant sherwani (long coat-like garment), exuded an air of regal poise.

We were particularly captivated by their first looks, which were just picture-perfect. The Hindu ceremony’s first look was especially heartwarming, as Raj was left speechless by how stunning Zoe looked in her sari. As we captured the couple’s portraits against the venue’s splendid backdrops, their love story unfolded before our lenses. Raj’s warm smile paired with Zoe’s serene personality, infused each photograph with the magic of their connection.

This lovely couple embraced their diverse cultural backgrounds by hosting not one, but two traditional ceremonies. We were enchanted by the picturesque outdoor ceremony setting at Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa. Nestled amid greenery and adorned with exquisite floral arrangements, the venue provided a dreamlike backdrop for Zoe and Raj’s union. What made this day even more special was the excitement and joy shared by Zoe’s side of the family, who were experiencing a Hindu wedding for the very first time. The joy they felt while taking part in the customs was definitely contagious and it was so touching to witness the coming together of two families.

Next, Zoe and Raj changed into different outfits, with Zoe looking absolutely radiant in her spectacular white wedding dress and Raj looking dashing in his sharp suit. The bridal bouquet was a sight to behold, boasting an exquisite array of red and orange flowers that perfectly complemented the day’s festivities.

From the intimate Ketubah signing to the symbolic breaking of the glass, every moment of the Jewish ceremony was filled with warmth and joy. Zoe and Raj couldn’t stop smiling throughout the day, and that’s exactly what their wedding photos reveal. We really loved taking their bride and groom portraits right before they made their grand entrance. They just seemed to exude a sense of ease and they were clearly ready to celebrate! And what a celebration it was! From their lovely first dance to the exuberant Hora, the evening was a whirlwind of laughter, joy, and love – a fitting tribute to the incredible journey of this remarkable couple.
