As wedding photographers, we always look forward to meeting couples and hearing their love stories. We love getting to know them better and finding out how they knew that they had found “the one”. Speaking of love stories, let us tell you about Becky and Barrett’s. When we first met them, we could tell that their wedding was going to be incredible because of how easygoing and fun they were. And boy, were we right! Everything came together perfectly on their big day, from the elegant venue and the stunning reception setting to a very adorable and furry special guest. Get ready to be swept away by their love story as we unveil the magic that unfolded at their La Valencia Hotel wedding.
Meet Becky And Barrett
Becky and Barrett’s story is truly one-of-a-kind. They met two months before the pandemic hit, and the majority of their early relationship was spent in quarantine together. While some couples may have found being cooped up together 24/7 to be a bit overwhelming, these two absolutely loved it. Being together in quarantine allowed them to build a strong foundation and truly get to know each other on a deeper level. It was during this time that they realized that they had something special: A love that could stand the test of time.
Becky And Barrett’s La Valencia Hotel Wedding
Becky and Barrett’s lively personalities shone through every moment of their La Valencia Hotel wedding, and we were so honored to capture it all. The La Valencia Hotel was the perfect venue for their special day, and since the couple lives about three blocks from the hotel, it was like having their wedding in their own backyard! We’ve shot so many weddings at this picturesque hotel, and we love seeing the unique touches each couple brings with them. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we could see how Becky and Barrett transformed the venue to make it their own. The stunning architecture, endless ocean views, and classic coastal charm never disappoint. And with everyone’s different tastes in decor, we love seeing how this hotel changes during each wedding.
The day began with a flurry of excitement as Becky was surrounded by her bridesmaids, who were helping her get ready. They tended to every aspect of her wedding day look, from her dress to her shoes. Meanwhile, Barrett and his boys raised a toast and clinked their glasses.
After getting ready, Becky didn’t have one but two sweet first looks! The first was with her father, who beamed with pride when he saw his daughter all ready to walk down the aisle. Next in line was Barrett, who got so emotional when he turned around to see Becky as a bride! It was clear that these two were absolutely smitten with each other. Becky looked absolutely radiant in her wedding dress, with an elegant bouquet in her hands, and Barrett looked oh-so-handsome in his blue tuxedo. They flawlessly complemented each other.
The couple exchanged vows in a church and committed to love and cherish each other for the rest of their lives. But what really made their wedding day special was what happened right after! As the newlyweds walked out, they threw their hands up in the air with pure joy, and waiting for them near the stairs was their fur baby, Piper! And at this moment, all of us could just feel the love and joy surrounding us. The couple was super excited to see her.
Piper had been a significant part of their love story from the beginning. So, it was only natural that she was present at their engagement session and wedding day. From their second date hiking to Cowles Mountain to the proposal at the same location, Piper was always there. Even during cocktail hour, she was ‘the best girl’, and everyone left with a little bit of Piper love in the form of her fur on their clothes. Becky and Barrett, if you’re reading this, please give Piper a little boop from our side. She really was such a sweetheart!
One of our favorite moments was when we headed down to La Jolla Beach for couples portraits. With the lovely lighting and breathtaking views of the ocean, we captured some romantic photos of the newlyweds. Becky and Barrett looked phenomenal together, and their electrifying chemistry shone through the pictures! From the first look to the first dance, Becky and Barrett’s wedding day was filled with sentimental and magical moments. We feel so happy to have captured these precious memories through our lens.
