As wedding photographers, we’ve seen it all: The tears, the laughter, the energetic dancing, and of course, the sweet love between a couple. And it never gets old! We’re always seeking to capture those heartfelt moments that make us feel like we’re part of something truly special. Recently, we had the pleasure of photographing Kelly and Steve’s Cape Rey Carlsbad wedding. It was a beautiful day, coupled with impressive views of the resort’s grounds and the vast ocean. If there was one word to describe Kelly and Steve’s wedding, it would definitely be dreamy!
Meet The Couple
Kelly and Steve’s love story began at a work conference. What began as a casual conversation quickly blossomed into an incredible connection that they both felt right away. The only problem? Kelly was living in Colorado, while Steve was living in New York. But they didn’t let distance get in the way. They made it work long distance until Steve moved to Colorado to be with Kelly.
Kelly and Steve’s shared love for travel and adventure led them to the Caribbean, where they obtained scuba certification within the first three months of dating! And when it came time to choose their honeymoon destination, they knew they wanted to go somewhere truly extraordinary. They chose Egypt, where they could delve into the rich history and culture of the ancient land. While Kelly and Steve enjoy traveling together and creating unforgettable memories, their love story remains their greatest adventure.
Kelly And Steve’s Cape Rey Carlsbad Wedding
Kelly and Steve planned to tie the knot at the Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, a Hilton Resort and Spa, and they couldn’t have chosen a more fantastic venue to commemorate their new beginning. We started the day documenting Kelly getting ready with her bridesmaids, popping some bubbly, and enjoying the company of her loved ones before walking down the aisle. Steve looked sharp as ever, buttoning up his suit and getting ready for his first look with his gorgeous bride.
The gorgeous natural lighting and the resort’s picturesque lawns created an enchanting atmosphere for their super sweet first look. Arriving in her elegant wedding dress, Kelly tapped Steve’s shoulder for him to turn around, and his reaction was priceless! The two of them spent some more time together before the ceremony, soaking in all the emotions of this special occasion.
The couple’s outdoor wedding ceremony was a sight to behold! We were blown away by the beauty of the venue and the attention to detail that had been put into every aspect of the ceremony. White chairs were placed on either side of the aisle, leading up to an arch adorned with white flowers that perfectly contrasted the lush green surroundings and the blue sky above. The sun was shining as both Kelly’s and Steve’s sisters each did readings, separately, setting the tone for the heartfelt vows that the couple would soon exchange. Kelly and Steve poured their hearts out to each other, promising to love and cherish each other forever.
After their nuptials, we whisked away the newlyweds for some couples portraits. Our favorite moment was when we headed to the beach with the couple. Just before the beach was an area filled with wildflowers, where we captured some phenomenal photos of the newlyweds.
Kelly and Steve’s wedding reception was a night to remember! The couple’s first dance was such a heartwarming moment. The father-daughter dance was just as cute, and they also improvised a few dance moves that perfectly matched the lyrics of the song! Soon, everyone joined the happy couple on the dance floor, laughing, singing, and dancing the night away. It was a true celebration of love, and we felt blessed to be a part of it all.
