The name of our business is Create Events and we offer wedding and event planning, coordination and design.
What is your service are? Do you travel?
Based in San Diego, we service all of Southern California. We also love to travel and are happy to be part of destination weddings.
Tell us a little about how you got into the wedding industry…
Growing up I never dreamed of being a wedding planner… but then something changed! As a student in the Hospitality and Tourism Management Program at San Diego State University I wasn’t sure what field I wanted to go into the most. At first I started interning at a downtown hotel and really enjoyed being part of their team. Then I began working on weddings and realized that planning, design and coordination was the thing for me. I always love helping people and making their experience fun, so naturally weddings make me happy, really happy! After these experiences I started to focus on events and have been doing weddings ever since. By the time I finished my degree, with an emphasis in Event Planning, I had already worked on a multitude of weddings and knew that being a wedding planner would make me feel fulfilled.
How would you describe your “ideal client”? What kind of bride fits into the services you offer?
Our ideal client is someone who is fun-loving, sweet and madly in love, but we enjoy helping all types of people achieve their wedding dreams. We really love to work with those who share an undeniable spark! Regardless of who they are or where they are in the planning process we are happy to share in their excitement and help them achieve their wedding vision.
What do you love about your job the most?
I love seeing the transformation throughout the planning process. It’s so exciting to start with a blank canvas and create someone’s ideal wedding. The only thing better than that is seeing our couples happy. Getting a “text” the next morning or a “thank you” card after they return from their honeymoon makes my job worth every second.
Tell us three wedding trends you LOVE right now?
My favorite three weddings trends… this is tough! The three I love the most are all so different but here it goes:
1. Late night bites
2. Floral walls and runners
3. Illusion back wedding gowns
Realistically, I love everything but these three take the cake!
What is your favorite wedding tradition?
We love cultural weddings! It’s so interesting to see couples from different cultures come together and represent their heritage throughout their ceremony and reception. Every element from traditional cultural weddings are so meaningful. We have been lucky enough to experience everything from simple Japanese Saki Ceremonies to lavish three day Indian Weddings. We have also enjoyed working with Persian Sofreh Designers.
Whats one of most unique aspects of a wedding you’ve seen while on the job? (ie. a detail, vows, animals in the wedding, funny or emotional dances etc.)
One unique moment we experienced was a vivacious father-daughter dance. It started off slow and after a couple seconds broke into a full on show! This was so much fun to watch and the energy of the guests immediately went through the roof. This wedding also had a fun surprise for their guests when the groom and his former band put on a concert in the middle of the reception. Everyone enjoyed these moments that truly made this wedding so unique.
Most of the time grooms are not as involved as the bride when it comes to wedding planning but I had one couple where the groom liked to take things into his own hands. He was so sweet and planned several surprises for his lovely bride. He started off by giving her a new ring she had never seen before, then surprised her with a cake she didn’t think they were getting and lastly had the videographer create a same day clip of their wedding day to play at the end of the evening. You could see how happy she was every time something unexpected happened and you could tell how much he loves her!

We love working with France Photographers because of the fun and energetic women who make up this wonderful team! Everyone is very artistic and listens to their client’s needs. It truly shows how passionate your team is about weddings and capturing every moment. We have worked with Jessica multiple times and absolutely love her sweet personality. She is kind, giving and has an ease about her that makes her clients comfortable – a VERY important trait for a wedding photographer.
