Q. What is the name of your business and what do you offer?

A. First Comes Love – we offer wedding planning and coordination, everything from day-of, month-of, to year of.

Q. What is your service area? Do you travel?
A. Primarily San Diego County but we absolutely do travel.

Q. Tell us a little about how you got into the wedding industry…
A. I started my career in public relations and worked for some of the world’s largest PR firms. One of my main responsibilities was planning events for clients – we did Grammy parties at Mariah Carey’s house, a golf tournament with Will Ferrrell, launch events for Tiger Woods, restaurant launches for Wolfgang Puck, etc. In my mid 20s my friends started getting married and asked me to start helping them because I planned events. Turns out I loved the wedding world so I joined all of the professional groups associated with the industry, got certified in wedding planning and launched the business. That was back in 2008 and we’ve planned hundreds of weddings since.

Q. How would you describe your “ideal client”? What kind of bride or groom fits into the services you offer?
A. Our ideal client is someone who is looking to get the most value for their wedding. Our approach is straightforward. We want our clients to have the best wedding possible for their budget. Style-wise most of our clients skew either modern or classic.

Q. What do you love about your job the most?
A. Every day and every wedding is different. No matter how many times we work at a venue each wedding is different. I love working with clients to help them personalize their weddings.

Q. Tell us three wedding trends you LOVE right now?
A. 1. Glitz and glam – I’m a sucker for sparkle and love that sequins are in right now.
2. Color (and lots of it) – for awhile everything was blush (which is beautiful) but I am loving vibrant colors coming back into weddings.
3. Intimacy – we’re seeing a trend in smaller weddings. Loving it because it allows the bride and groom to relax and not feel rushed having to see all the guests.

Q. Whats your favorite wedding tradition?
A. I love the first dance – I think it is such an intimate moment between the bride and groom.

Q. Whats one of most unique aspects of a wedding you’ve seen while on the job? (ie. a detail, vows, animals in the wedding, funny or emotional dances etc.)
A. I love personalized vows. It’s so nice to hear the couple talk about their relationship and the awesome things they promise to each other.

Why do you enjoy working with the France Photographers team?
A. Seriously working with France Photographers from start to finish is so great! Not only do they capture fantastic images, they also make the whole process so easy for clients.
