At times, a wedding venue holds more significance than just being a location chosen by a couple for their special day. Sometimes, the venue has a personal connection to the couple, and sometimes, it plays a crucial role in strengthening their bond. A wild, magical, and extraordinary celebration, Megan and Jeff’s San Diego Safari Park wedding was a union perfectly suited for two passionate animal lovers. With breathtaking vistas of the park and an abundance of love in their hearts, Megan and Jeff exchanged heartfelt vows amidst their loved ones. It was an absolute privilege to photograph their wedding at one of the COOLEST locations in San Diego, surrounded by amazing wildlife and nature’s beauty.
Megan and Jeff’s San Diego Safari Park Wedding
Megan and Jeff left no stone unturned in planning their wedding at the San Diego Safari Park. Their unique outdoor celebration included an unconventional guest list of furry, feathered, and scaled animals, making it a truly unforgettable event. Although Megan and Jeff have been happily married for two years, they decided to commemorate their love story by finally having the wedding they had always dreamed of.
With both being animal lovers and owning 16 chickens of their own back home, these lovebirds planned their wedding at a location that defines their love for all things WILD! During their early years of dating, Jeff and Megan used to love hanging out and exploring the San Diego Safari Park. Seeing them celebrate such an important day at a place that best reflects their passion and love for all creatures – big and small – was such an amazing experience for us.
As Megan and Jeff prepared to exchange their vows in the presence of family, friends, and some pretty cool animal guests, they raised a toast to their bright future. Megan wore a stunning wedding dress, which she paired with a veil embroidered with the words “Love one another as I have loved you”. As wedding photographers, we always make sure to capture these unique and meaningful details that add to the wedding day story and beauty.
The couple’s wedding ceremony at Kijami Overlook was absolutely magical, with a breathtaking backdrop of giraffes, rhinos, and gazelles grazing and roaming around in the savanna as the couple exchanged their vows on the sweeping lawn and sealed their marriage with a kiss. Megan and Jeff seamlessly blended the adventure of an African safari with the classic romance of a wedding ceremony, leaving us all in awe. It was truly a spectacular celebration that we’ll never forget!
During cocktail hour, the couple also offered their guests an unforgettable “animal encounter”, where certain animals were brought out, and the staff talked about them and answered questions about these incredible creatures. Talk about exclusive entertainment!
Continuing with the safari theme into the evening, guests dined and danced in safari elegance at the park’s newest gathering spot. As sunset approached, everyone gathered around the fire pit to admire the spectacular panoramic views of nature at its finest. It was, without a doubt, one of the most extraordinary weddings we’ve had the pleasure of documenting. They truly knew how to transport their guests to another world with their stunning wedding concept and exceptional attention to detail.
