Recently, we had the pleasure of photographing Melissa and Zach’s stunning La Valencia Hotel wedding in La Jolla, California. Melissa, originally from San Diego, and Zach, from Philadelphia, met at work in Los Angeles, and their wedding day was an unforgettable celebration of their love. Weddings are magical moments where love, laughter, and joy come together to create lifelong memories. From the first look to the epic last dance, every part of a couple’s big day is filled with emotions that tell their unique love story.
Melissa And Zach’s La Valencia Hotel Wedding
Surrounded by her girls, who looked absolutely adorable in matching getting-ready outfits, there was laughter, hugs, and smiles all around as Melissa and her bridesmaids got ready. Melissa’s wedding dress was the epitome of elegance, with a stunning flow that made it a dream to capture in photos. Every detail, from her shoes to the rings, was meticulously documented.
The venue’s iconic pink walls at La Valencia Hotel towering palm trees, and breathtaking ocean views provided a picture-perfect backdrop for Melissa and her bridal party. The hotel’s charm perfectly complemented the elegance of the day, creating a setting that was equal parts classic and coastal chic.
Melissa and Zach’s La Valencia Hotel wedding had numerous heartwarming moments, including their intimate first look outdoors. La Valencia Hotel has these adorable white-grill balconies that’s both simple and beautiful at the same time. When Zach turned around to see his bride for the first time, the happiness on his face was priceless!
The gorgeous California weather set the scene for an unforgettable nuptial. The vibrant greenery at the couple’s La Valencia Hotel wedding was the perfect contrast to the soft, white floral arch that adorned the altar. One particularly touching moment during the ceremony was the tea ceremony, a lovely cultural tradition that added depth and meaning to their union. It was also special that Melissa’s brother officiated the ceremony, making it even more personal and heartfelt.
The way Melissa and Zach looked at each other during their vows was enough to melt anyone’s heart. Watching their love and commitment shine through as they smiled and exchanged promises was one of the highlights of the day.
After the ceremony, we ventured to the beach for the couple’s portraits. Melissa and Zach hopped onto a golf cart and rode down to the cliffs, where ocean breeze welcomed them with open arms. The joy of being outdoors, coupled with their newlywed glow, made for some of the most stunning portraits.
Once the evening commenced, it was time to party! One of the standout moments was when Zach’s friend, Teddy, took the stage with the band and performed a surprise song. It was such a fun way to kick off the night, and the energy only built from there. The couple had planned a few fun wedding games, including a hilarious ‘how low can you go’ game. We even got an epic shot of a guest sliding under the beam — one of those moments that will have people reminiscing for years to come!
