La Jolla Engagement Session – Haley and Parker

I met Haley a few months ago at a bridal show that we were a part of and I couldn’t wait with her and Parker to talk about their wedding and engagement session! Haley told me that she really wanted more of a field-y area and then to head to the beach for their engagement session. I was excited to find Marian Bear park for them because it was just short distance from La Jolla Cove which is one of my favorite beaches to photograph at!

We always send out a questionnaire to our couples before their engagement session to get to know them a little bit better. Here were a few things that I loved learning about these two love birds:

  • Q. Tell us the story of how you met…
    A. We met my first year and his second year at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. We were both at the ice rink on campus and I was playing in a broom ball game for an intramural team when I noticed him. My older brother and him were actually teammates and friends before I attended Liberty so he introduced us that night at broom ball and I immediately felt the sparks fly. We saw each other pretty often around campus since we both played for our schools hockey team (he on the mens and me on the women’s). After seeing him around a couple of times, he asked me to study with him and I couldn’t resist! He and I tried to get together whenever we had time and shared our first kiss together on the roof of our school where he later asked me on an official date. He swept me off of my feet on our first date and I knew we shared something very special.

    A. She has the most beautiful eyes
How we can talk about anything and I can always be myself

    • Q. Name three things you (bride-to-be) like about your fiancĂ©…
      A. He is my absolute best friend
He is the easiest person to talk to and I know I can tell him anything
He makes me laugh harder than I ever have and happier than I could have ever imagined
(He also has the most comforting eyes and a perfect smile)

  • Q. If you had a day off together and wanted to do something fun, what would you choose?
    A. We love spending the day together when we have a day off. Usually we like to find a pretty outdoor mall that may be a couple hours away. We always have great talks and laugh a lot on the drive. While we are at the mall we like to walk around, talk, and enjoy looking through different stores discussing things we would like to have in our future house together. Then we like to end the day going out to a nice dinner and maybe go mini golfing or cuddling up to watch a movie together.

  • Q. What do you think is unique about you as a couple?
    A. I think what makes us unique as a couple is that we come from different countries at opposite ends of the continent and we still ended up together. I think what may not be unique to some but is unique for us is that we have a very strong and trustworthy relationship. We are always able to talk through things and we have a lot of faith in each other. We are very competitive people but we are always encouraging one another and pushing each other to be better people. I think our uniqueness is that we are both lucky enough to have such great parents as role models for us spending our lives together.
